State Sponsored Life Insurance;

• $1,000 'no cost' insurance. The death benefit for ALL current members of the Virginia National Guard and Air National Guard paid within 24 hours of notice of death to beneficiary.

  • Additional Optional Coverage* - from $10,000 Basic to $160,000 for member ($260,000 if activated for deployment or homeland defense missions) a significant emergency death benefit is paid within 24 hours.
     

  • Spousal Coverage* - Optional coverage from $5,000 to $105,000 coverage on spouse, constant with  no increases every 5 years.
     

  • Dependent Children Coverage- $5,000 of coverage on dependant children.
     

  • *Optional coverage for member and spouse of $105,000 or greater remains unchanged to age 50 with no increase in premium or decrease in coverage. Coverage can continue after age 50, individually based.
     

  • All coverage is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - not just while on duty or for accidental death only. Convenient payroll deduction from your drill check Can continue coverage upon retirement or leaving the National Guard and billed directly.
